Benin tribe are known for celebrating a lot and having a good time. the most important festival in the Benin kingdom is the Igue Festival. It is a festival of thanksgiving, prayer, and blessings, typically held around Christmas and New Year. During the festival, the Oba (king) of Benin performs sacred rites, blessings, and sacrifices. The festival also involves cultural performances, dances, and rituals. Of course there are other festival like Ugie Ewere Festival: This is a festival that celebrates the goddess of peace, Uziamwen, among the Edo people, Oba's Coronation Anniversary: The coronation anniversary of the Oba of Benin is a significant event celebrated by the Edo people, Edo National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST): This is an annual cultural festival organized by the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) in Nigeria, and many more. It is expected for one to wear the Benin traditional attire (red warrper for the women and white for the men) while celebrating.
